I was deeply saddened to hear about Paul's passing and I still miss his friendship greatly. Paul was one of the first people to make us feel welcome when we moved to Slindon in 2001 and used the George at Eartham as our local pub, simply because we felt very welcome there, where Paul would greet us with his beautiful smile and never failed to come over and have a chat with us and make a big fuss about our son, who was around 8 years old at the time. Eventually, we made more friends there and met his fiancée too, Sarah, and the George became more and more like our second home, where we could spend a couple of hours as a family of a Sunday, enjoying a few beers and a laugh in a friendly and warm atmosphere. We were lucky enough to be invited to Paul and Sarah's wedding and I remember thinking how happy we felt for them for being such a friendly, loving and kind couple. Eventually children arrived and life got a little hectic for everybody, including us, moving back to our house in Bognor Regis, but we still kept going back to the George because we had never felt such genuine warmth anywhere else, either before or after discovering the George. Paul, I am sorry that we can't be with you on this special Tribute day to you, but I want you to know that we think of you and your kindness often, as you were part of a very happy period in our lives that we remember with fondness and will never be forgotten. We carry you in our hearts and our thoughts and feel very privileged for having met you and shared with you such happy times.
